Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026: Everything We Know About the S26 Launch on February 25

Samsung just made it official: the first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026 is happening on February 25 in San Francisco, and the Galaxy S26 lineup is ready to make its debut. After months of leaks, rumors, and speculation, we finally have a date — and a clearer picture of what Samsung has been cooking up.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: FEBRUARY 25, 10AM PT

The announcement came on February 10, giving fans just over two weeks to prepare their wallets and trade-in devices. Samsung will stream the event live on their website and YouTube channel at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern, with pre-orders opening the very next day on February 26.

If Samsung's typical launch cadence holds, expect the phones to hit stores sometime in March. But this time around, Samsung seems particularly eager to get devices into customers' hands, offering some of the most aggressive pre-order incentives we've seen in years.

THE S26 LINEUP: REFINEMENT OVER REVOLUTION

Don't expect radical redesigns or folding screens — this Unpacked is all about perfecting the flagship experience. The Galaxy S26 series comes in three flavors: Galaxy S26 (Standard), Galaxy S26+ (Larger), and Galaxy S26 Ultra (Premium). Each brings meaningful improvements focused on what Samsung calls "better comfort, stronger display tech, and longer battery efficiency."

GALAXY S26 ULTRA: SOFTER EDGES, SHARPER DISPLAY

The Ultra has been Samsung's statement piece for years, but previous generations came with literally sharp edges — angular corners that looked premium but felt uncomfortable during extended use. Samsung has finally listened.

The S26 Ultra ditches those sharp corners for a slightly rounded design, making the massive 6.9-inch body easier to hold with one hand. It's still a big phone, but it's a big phone that won't leave indent marks in your palm after a long call.

Display technology gets a serious upgrade with the new M14 OLED panel, capable of exceeding 3,000 nits of peak brightness — bright enough to remain clearly visible even in direct sunlight. A genuine game-changer for outdoor use and HDR content.

PRIVACY DISPLAY: YOUR SCREEN, YOUR EYES ONLY

Perhaps the most intriguing new feature is what Samsung calls "Privacy Display" (or Flex Magic Pixel). This technology automatically narrows your screen's viewing angle when you open sensitive apps like banking or messaging. Anyone trying to shoulder-surf your screen in public will see nothing but darkness.

It's a simple idea that addresses a real, everyday privacy concern — and exactly the kind of practical innovation that actually improves daily life.

POWER UNDER THE HOOD

The S26 Ultra runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 globally — no regional processor lottery here — paired with up to 16GB of RAM specifically tuned for on-device AI processing.

GALAXY S26 AND S26+: THE GOLDILOCKS OPTIONS

Not everyone wants or needs an Ultra. The standard S26 and S26+ offer flagship performance in more manageable sizes, with one notable improvement this year.

The base S26 display has grown from 6.2 inches to 6.3 inches — just enough to accommodate a significantly larger 4,300 mAh battery, up from 4,000 mAh. Samsung claims this translates to an extra couple of hours of real-world use, which could finally put the "all-day battery" claim to rest for heavy users.

Regional processor differences remain: US and China get Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while Europe and India get Samsung's Exynos 2600. Samsung insists the performance gap has closed considerably — but real-world testing will be the ultimate judge.

THE AI PITCH: "INTELLIGENCE THAT ADAPTS TO YOU"

Every smartphone maker is racing to justify why AI belongs on your phone, and Samsung's answer is "intelligence that's adaptive to you" — features that remove friction from everyday tasks and make phone use feel more natural.

Samsung is working on a revamped Bixby AI assistant with deeper integration of Perplexity, the AI-powered search engine. The hope is that Bixby can finally become the intelligent assistant Samsung has been trying to build for years — one that understands context and anticipates your needs rather than just responding to commands.

With up to 16GB of RAM on the Ultra, the benefits of on-device AI processing are clear: faster responses with no waiting on cloud servers, better privacy with your data staying on your device, and offline capability with AI features that work without an internet connection.

PRE-ORDER INCENTIVES: SAMSUNG WANTS YOUR BUSINESS

Samsung isn't holding back on pre-order deals this year. You can get a $30 sign-up credit just for registering interest, a chance to win a $5,000 Samsung gift card through a sweepstakes, up to $900 off with a qualifying trade-in device, or a $150 credit toward Samsung accessories if you don't have a trade-in.

Galaxy Unpacked 2026 takes place February 25, 2026 at 10am PT / 1pm ET. Pre-orders open February 26. Watch live on Samsung.com and YouTube.
