NVIDIA Unveils DLSS 4.5 at CES 2026
Revolutionary AI-powered graphics technology debuts at CES 2026 — promising sharper visuals and 4K 240Hz performance with full path tracing.

NVIDIA made waves at CES 2026 with the introduction of DLSS 4.5, the latest evolution of its real-time image-upscaling technology. Building on last year's advancements, this new version brings significant improvements to visual quality and performance that could reshape how gamers experience their favorite titles.
What's New
2nd Generation Super Resolution Transformer
The centerpiece of DLSS 4.5 is its upgraded Super Resolution Transformer. NVIDIA claims substantial visual improvements across the board — and the good news is it's available immediately for all RTX GPU owners, not just those with the latest hardware.
The upgrade delivers sharper image quality with enhanced detail preservation across all resolutions and scenes. Temporal stability sees major gains too, with more consistent visuals during motion and less flicker and shimmer. Ghosting on fast-moving objects and high-contrast edges is significantly reduced, and anti-aliasing improvements produce cleaner edges and smoother textures throughout gameplay.
Dynamic Multi Frame Generation
The most technically impressive addition: Dynamic Multi Frame Generation intelligently maximizes frame rates to match your monitor's refresh rate — enabling smooth 4K gaming at 240Hz with full path tracing enabled. Path tracing is one of the most demanding rendering techniques available, producing photorealistic lighting but typically requiring major compromises. DLSS 4.5 makes both possible simultaneously.
"Dynamic 6x Frame Generation will support over 400 games through the NVIDIA app when it launches in spring 2026 — but it's exclusive to RTX 50 series cards."
RTX Remix Logic
Beyond DLSS improvements, NVIDIA introduced RTX Remix Logic — a feature that enables real-time environmental reactions to in-game events, adding a new layer of dynamic realism without requiring manual adjustments from developers.
The system recognizes more than 30 common in-game events and automatically triggers appropriate responses — from door openings and explosions to time-of-day changes, weather transitions, material impacts, particle emissions, volumetric shifts, lighting changes, and atmospheric effects.
Responses can adaptively modify volumetrics, particles, material properties, and lighting in real-time — creating more immersive, believable game worlds on the fly.
Platform Expansion
NVIDIA also confirmed native client support for both Linux and Amazon Fire TV — signaling the company's commitment to bringing advanced graphics technologies beyond traditional Windows gaming PCs.
Availability
The 2nd Gen Transformer Super Resolution is available now for all RTX GPUs. Dynamic 6x Frame Generation and 400+ game support through the NVIDIA App are coming in Spring 2026, exclusively for RTX 50 Series cards. RTX Remix Logic availability is still to be announced. Linux and Fire TV native clients are available now for all supported hardware.
These announcements were part of Jensen Huang's broader CES 2026 keynote, where NVIDIA outlined its vision for AI-powered gaming. While "4.5" sounds incremental, the leaps in frame generation and dynamic environmental response suggest NVIDIA continues pushing the boundaries of real-time graphics — and for those on existing RTX hardware, the immediately available Super Resolution upgrade alone is reason to update your drivers today.
